Заключительная встреча в 2025-2026 учебном году в нашем Английском Разговорном Клубе состоялась уже в июне. Жарким летним днем мы собрались, чтобы обсудить особенности обучения в школах и университетах России и англоязычных стран. Как всегда, Федор подготовил много интересных и насущных вопросов для обсуждения, парных заданий и видео. Было принято решение провести сессию для преподавателей в непринужденной обстановке, за чашкой чая и приятной беседой во внутреннем дворике «НИВЫ».

At the beginning of our summer meeting Fyodor offered the participants to choose one tiny colourful piece of paper with a number or a letter at the top and a weird word in the middle. Frankly speaking, everybody was puzzled. Soon everything was clear – the numbers and the letters helped to change the learners in the pairs for numerous discussion (1-A, 2B…). An extremely unusual method to vary the educational experience ))). As for the words, Fyodor gave us a homework assignment – to look them up in the dictionary. Most of the words were classified as Upper-Intermediate level (B2) vocabulary (e.g. wistful) or even Proficient level (C2) vocabulary (e.g. chagrin, bubbly). It was one more way to enlarge the vocabulary.

The pairs changed, different subjects were discussed… We shared our points of view and tried to give as many arguments as we could. Here are just some of the tricky questions for our debates: What are some of the problems you see in school today? Do you think public / private schools make a big difference for the child? What do you think are the best universities in the world and in Russia? Any similarities between Aussie discipline and Russian discipline?

One hour and a half flew by unnoticed. Fyodor hurried to the next session with the students of the Niva school. The lesson in the open air was a perfect idea to finish the academic year in a friendly and pleasant atmosphere. It seemed that the blue sky, the bright hot sun, the blooming flowers in the yard were an ideal background for our last meeting. We hope to meet again… the following school year…
